Big Cat Rescue - Excellent summary description, videos, and images offered by this Florida-based organization, which rescues large cats previously kept as pets.

World Wildlife Fund - A basic primer on jaguars from a respected conservation group, with an overview of the Amazon basin, greatest stronghold of Panthera onca.

Wikipedia - The on-line encyclopedia entry for jaguars is thorough, interesting, and usefu. You, too, can update it.

Several Internet sources of news reportage and conservation information about jaguars...

Carnivore Conservation - Arguably the most complete compendium of news reports and research papers on carnivores of all kinds, with a specific category for Felidae (the cat family). Updated daily and multilingual.

Panthera Foundation - Specializing in wild cat research and conservation, this nonprofit is doing cutting-edge work in Brazil's Pantanal, Belize's Cockscomb, Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula, and other key areas of jaguar activity.

Wildlife Conservation Society - This extensive site describes various past and present projects of New York-based WCS, a long-time leader in wild animal conservation, including jaguar fieldwork.

Northern Jaguar Project - This Arizona nonprofit oversees an innovative, community-based effort to conserve and study jaguars in their northernmost stronghold of Sonora, Mexico, which may be the last best hope for repopulation of jaguars in the United States.

SWJags Blog - A superb source of frequently updated information about jaguars in the American Southwest, with excellent commentary, pictures, interviews, and links.

Belize Wildlife Research - Top jaguar researchers in Belize have set up this site as a source of comprehensive information about what's going on with big cats and their wild prey in one of the real "hot spots" of conservation. Includes some terrific pictures and links of other worthy websites.

Jaguar Habitat USA - A fascinating and informative blog devoted to the notion that wild jaguars deserve protected habitat and a reasonable recovery plan within the  southwestern United States.
